A fine, dedicated sight for the AR

I bought it primarily because of its reputation for ruggedness and reliablity. The quality of the optics is very fine with sharp delineation of the circle/dot reticle. The unlighted setting is quick to acquire in normal lighting and the range of illumination settings does allow for adjusting for night-time ambient light without overpowering night vision. The scope arrived not with the quick detachable mount indicated but with a bolt mounted upper rail mount and a handle mount.
I mounted the sight on a Bushmaster M4 Optics Ready Carbine positioned to provide optimum eye relief for instant target acquisition at the 1x setting. This position is usable out to about 2x or somewhat beyond but the eye relief becomes quite close at the full 2.8-3x magnification requiring shortening the adjustable stock or leaning into the scope. Offhand shooting at 100 yards is easy and instinctive and my bench groups are in the 2-inch range or about what I usually do with other three-minute dot sights. I took advantage of the rail mount on the right side of the scope by mounting a Surefire x400 laser light and adjusting the laser to correspond with the center dot of the scope reticle. The entire package is quite compact.
The CQ/t comes with detachable flip-up lens covers that would do a good job of keeping dust off the lenses. It does however, interfer with the rear objective when zooming between power settings. The range finding feature mentioned in the promotional material is based upon the apparent size of a target within the reticle ring. The ring subtends six feet at 100 yards and a six foot tall object will fit between the center dot and the circle at 200.
The cq/t is a very fine close and intermediate range sight and a worthwhile purchase for my purposes.
