Does not fit SX30

This may have been a fine case for previous generations of the Canon SX series, but it does NOT fit the new SX 30IS. I just received this as a gift for my SX 30, and the larger lens (longer) means the case does not shut all the way. The velcro to close the case is about an inch apart, so it is worthless for the new generation of this camera. I’ll be returning it shortly.

The SX30 IS Fits This Case – PSC-4100

I can’t imagine what the other two reviewers are talking about but I have a Canon SX30IS and this case fits it just fine. The case is made by Canon and it states right on the packaging “Made for PowerShot SX30IS, SX20IS, SX10IS & SX1IS”. The only thing I can think of is they’re confusing this with the PSC-4000 which fits some of those other models but not the SX30IS. Note that it’s a camera CASE not a camera BAG. It holds and protects the camera, and that’s it. It has no compartments for accessories, etc. Basically, what you see in the photo is what you get.
I’m deducting one star because it’s a little clumsy to operate. An old fashioned flip-down front would have been much nicer.

Canon Deluxe Soft Case for SX30 IS

This case does it’s job of protecting the camera. It is a little awkward putting the camera in it after use. It uses velcro to close and does not leave any room for anything but the camera. I wouldn’t really consider it anything but a protector for the camera. If that’s why your purchasing it then it will serve it’s purpose. If you’re looking for a carrying case that will also hold camera accessories you might want to continue shopping.
